This work invites personal interpretation, while centring on the angular forms of horo within the pūhoro, hinting at a connection to Koro Taranaki. Blue and white evoke our moana — the ocean currents and breaking waves along the West Coast. Infill patterns reference the weave of a whāriki and the abundance of harakeke that grounds our region.

Created with repurposed timbers and plywood, each mark and blemish from its past life remains, bringing an organic and rustic presence to the work.
